How Imperfect Produce is Making Eating Healthy Sexy

IMPERFECT PRODUCE IS MAKING EATING HEALTHY SEXY: I mean, maybe not sexy…but definitely more appealing. I have been using the service for over 2 months, and I have to say I am in love. To help you get in the mood for a little ugly produce, let me back up and explain this necessary service.
The Idea
Imperfect Produce is a program that is designed to connect you straight to the farmers producing your fruits and vegetables. By cutting out the middle man (grocer) who would only carry the prettiest foods, leaving the “others” as waste the farmers have to get rid of, you save big. Why? Because Imperfect Produce takes theses fruits and veggies off the farmers hands and gets the PERFECTLY HEALTHY AND TASTY produce to you…at a fraction of the cost. This cuts down on major food waste and keeps a few dollars in your pockets. We’ll talk more about this later but you’d clearly be #Winning at food conservation. Go YOU!
You Can Customize Your Imperfect Produce Box
This is the best part, as you have some control over what shows up at your door. You decide the size of your box, if you want organic or regular produce and even what produce you want sent depending on availability. The produce changes from week to week, so there’s plenty of variety to choose from and it helps you step out of your comfort zone to try new things!
SIZE MATTERS: We chose the box that takes care of 2-4 people, with an average cost of $22-$25 a week. With 2 kids under 10 years old, we figured this was the perfect size for us. After receiving our boxes for over 2 months, we tend to eat around $22 worth of produce a week, and that goes a long way.

Best of Both Worlds
Like I stated earlier, buying from Imperfect Produce is a game changer in the food conservation world. Not only is buying from Imperfect Produce cost effective (you can save an average of 30% of what you pay when you shop your local grocery store), you are getting really great produce delivered straight to your door. Yes, that means no more late night rushing to the market for that onion your recipe calls for, because someone already delivered it to you! I had never had a delivery service come to my home on a regular basis. Talk about convenient! I am super busy and this is a godsend. Also, I find myself being stretched creatively and I’m pushed to try new dishes with in season fruits and vegetables.
The Verdict
This was my first experience with this delivery-based service and I don’t know if I will ever go back. On average before I started working with Imperfect Produce, I was spending so much money on produce, and to tell you the truth, I might as well have been throwing money in the trash. I can’t tell you the amount of times we were throwing out food due to overbuying and it rotting in the fridge. My FAVORITE part about this service, other than the crazy savings and feeling like I’m contributing to a bigger cause (yay no food waste), is that it keeps me in check. I’m forced to focus on what my family actually eats in a week, which allows me to customize my box size and cut way down on food waste. Over the last 2 months, we have thrown away little to no produce! I am so proud to say that! Tip: When it’s close to the end of the week, I go through the pantry and refrigerator to see what I have left, and work up a couple of freezer meals like chicken noodle soup or marinara sauce for later!
My STATS:
Since I started using Imperfect Produce I have contributed to a healthier planet more than I ever imagined. It adds up people.
Plus, my kids are eating home cooked meals on a regular basis, so why not make them healthy, yummy AND affordable?
Have you ever thought about trying Imperfect Produce? Obviously, I think you should. Check and see if they are in your area here. Use my code “ECLECTICKURVES” and save 50% OFF your first order!
