So Anxious Clothing Presents: Curvature Full Figured Expo

Hey loves!!! Whew! What a busy weekend I had. The kids were on Fall Break and kept us moving, but I still found time to attend the Curvature Expo in Indy this past Sunday. This body-positive show focused on men and women being confident in their own skin, showcasing local designers and rocking on-trend designs while slaying the catwalk. Babes- they did not disappoint! Take a look through as I talk about the event and show you a few of my FAV looks.

S/O to Kenneth Parks of KP's Photography for taking these amazing pictures of the curvy models working the catwalk. Check out more from him on his page here.

2 Sassy Styles started the event off with a BANG, showcasing their latest styles. Its Fall, and I am getting in the mood for olive-toned looks, and loved the charm-school inspired first dress to rip the runway. I could totally see myself rocking that with patterned tights and booties! To confess, I did a little hunting on their website and the dress is only $35!!! I can feel my wallet running from me...lol. I also was here for this not-so-basic black mini dress and over-the-top statement necklace combo. Check out this model with her FAB burgundy hair!!! YASSSS Honey!

As you can see, they came to SLAYYYY. From dresses to accessories to male models (heyyyyy), there was something for everyone. I especially found it cool that designers had booths set up so you could purchase items you coveted from the fashion show. #genius

One segment that I didn't expect but can't stop coveting was Teddy Season. The creator, Vincent E. Patton, Jr. told me his clothing represented "bigger guys and the women who love us". His selection of casual wear hoodies, tanks and screen print shirts are body-positive and inspiring. Show the brand a little love and check out the site here...and as the following photos will show you, Teddy Season is in full effect.

Next up was the super-cute collection from The Leaders of the New School. Founded by Britney Tipton, this collection was both edgy and youthful. I'm telling you right now to look for a post from me rocking this varsity jacket. Yep.

During intermission, I went backstage to talk with Anj Blanchard-Carter, the creator and beautifully curvy #BossBabe behind Curvature. When I asked her what "body-positive" meant to her, she described it as being "raw" and confident with who you are. I couldn't agree more! Then she told me to get back out front so I wouldn't miss the half-time BBW dance-off. Ok...I wasn't ready for all the amazingness that was about to come at me. I asked the ladies where they got inspiration for the dance and they said-Reggae! I think Ri-Ri would have been proud! Make sure you stop by So Anxious Clothing and pick up a few of the following looks for yourself- they all come from her store!

This one-piece red jumpsuit pictured above had me all in my fashion feels. I loved the cutouts and found it super sexy and fun without showing everything God gave you. What do you think?

Curvature also did a great job pushing the body-positive message by including a lingerie segment, courtesy of Venus Chanel-Intimates, and showcasing body art with AirGraff Airbrush.

What a fun event! There was sooo much more to the show that I couldn't fit in this post! I hope you enjoyed looking through my favorite pics! I'm including a couple behind the scenes photos below, so take a look! Missed the show? Head over to the Curvature page and check out a complete list of vendors and designers!

Enjoy today!
